Light Experiment (Assignment 15)

Shoot 15
Capturing the Light
This was a fun exercise where we had to capture the light simply falling on the surface, no subject, just the light and how it impacts the surrounding.
its always so soothing to see that soft gradient coming up the staircase of the building that's still under construction
this time i went for a harsher light, the light is coming from a flood light and is so strong, there aint no gradient but a solid rectangle in perspective along with the shadows that came in light;s way
a really dark place, an amphitheatre, in the night with very low light in the left side
under the cafeteria, you can see the warm light coming out of that balcony, putting all the focus on the hall above
Black & White
capturing the water droplets on a leave after rain, with high focus on the middle ground keeping fore and background out of focus
the hallway to the entrance
Observation
I observed, how even slight amount of light can help you see the textures and details of the subject, it was much easier in the black and white photos, i noticed that in post production, how it opened up to more details, probably cause i was to focus on sharpness not on colors like in coloured photos, though all these photos are very dark, the b&w ones stand out for me more than the coloured ones.
Learning
I learnt how b&w photos more details than the coloured since there is no color distraction, also the shadows casted were so sharp, not like it doesnt happen in colored ones it does those photos also have a lot to focus on cause of colors. one thing i learnt about b&w photos is how they give off timeless and classic look and a stronger mood and emotion to the whole composition.
