About Godfather 

The Godfather (1972), directed by Francis Ford Coppola, is a classic crime drama about the Corleone family, a powerful mafia clan in New York. The story mainly follows Michael Corleone, who starts off wanting nothing to do with the family business but gradually gets pulled into it after his father, Vito Corleone, is targeted. It’s all about power, loyalty, family, and the moral costs of crime. The movie is legendary for its intense storytelling, memorable characters, and iconic scenes, it basically set the standard for gangster films.






The lighting is warm but directional, giving depth to the subject and separating them from the background and the foreground blurred. It captures a moment that feels intentional yet candid, showing how framing and light can guide mood.


the contrast is stronger, making reflection of the light on the chassis play a big role in shaping the object. The framing balances the subject with their environment, making the space around them feel meaningful. There’s an underexposed image, which stands out for this frame blending with the aesthetic in the background


The light hits just enough to highlight the key areas, while other parts fade slightly, giving a dramatic feel. The composition uses leading lines or natural frames to direct focus. It feels like a motion freeze showing that timing plus framing can make ordinary scenes appealing


Soft, warm lighting creates a calm, almost cinematic vibe. The subject is well-placed within the frame It’s a subtle image but shows how composition and light together can control how the viewer feels about the scene.


The shadows are more defined here, adding tension and focus. The framing emphasizes the subject. It feels like a quiet, intentional pause in the action a good example of controlling mood through light and placement.


The light feels dark and low, giving texture to surfaces and depth to the scene. Compositionally, the subject is part of a larger narrative, and the way elements are arranged guides your eye through the frame. It’s a reminder that even simple setups can feel cinematic if framed well.


This one uses directional or side lighting to emphasize mood and volume. The composition balances foreground and background, giving a sense of space. It captures a moment that feels both spontaneous and intentional, showing how timing, light, and composition work together.



OBSERVATION

all seven images, one thing really stands out is how light and composition completely shape the mood and story of each frame. Even small shifts in lighting soft versus directional, shadows versus highlights change how you feel about the scene though the lighting is soft there are scenes where theres too much tension and you get it just by looking at the composition. Altogether, these photos show that good composition isn’t just about making something look pretty it’s about telling a story, controlling focus, and creating emotion.

 13th Sept'25 Shoot 3  (AT HOME) Playing with Exposure (again) In this assignment, we explored the impact of exposure on photographic composition. The task was to experiment with different levels of exposure by intentionally creating overexposed and underexposed shots. The aim was to observe how varying light levels influence the mood, clarity, and overall visual balance of an image, but this time at home.  The exposure is set for the darker, ambient parts of the scene, which causes the brightest elements the lights on the stall to become washed. This means a complete loss of detail turning this into pure white areas. However, this approach makes the details in the shadows and the background clearly visible.    15th Sept'25 Shoot 5 Motion Blur Motion blur in photography happens when a moving subject is captured with a slower shutter speed, causing the motion to appear as a streak or blur in the image. Instead of freezing the action, it emphasizes the sense of movement, speed, and dynamism . Photographers often use this intentionally like blurring car lights in night photography, showing flowing water as silky smooth, or capturing the rush of people in a busy street to create mood and energy. However, if unintentional, motion blur can make photos look shaky or unclear.
